Meet Renata {J. Starr Floral Designer}

Good Morning Readers!!!

Another weird pregnancy dream last night....I was married to Joe Pesci and we were on our way to a holiday party..and he wouldn't tell me why the car smelled like a dead body....wow. Just wow. Anyways, on a more professional and not so disturbing note.....

I'd like to introduce you to someone very special to my heart and very important to the J.Starr Stylized Weddings Team: Miss Renata Hodl. Renata and I have worked together for years in the wedding industry side by side at three different venues over the span of eight years. Renata is one of my biggest supporters and can take my over the top, crazy, wild plans and make them come to life with her unbelievable floral design skills. Renata is one of our Lead Floral Designers on the J.Starr Team, and I'd be lost without her. I asked Renata to answer a few questions to share with our readers. Enjoy!

What is your background with the Wedding Industry?
I have worked in the wedding industry for over 10 years, starting as a Banquet Captain, Event Coordinator, and Director of Banquets. I have been a part of 550 weddings & events, had the pleasure of leading great staff to provide most memorable service. I have worked with awesome vendors up close an personal in designing beautiful events and lasting memories.

What do you love most about what you do?
Being able to be creative, working with brides, working with brides to help with their vision come true on their special day.

What gets you most excited about your job?
Seeing all the planning come to fruition -and the expression on the brides face
when she sees the decor for the first time.

What's an embarrassing moment that has happened to you on the job?
Calling the groom-father of the bride....yeah

What's your biggest pet peeve about things that can happen on a wedding day?
This is just a silly thing-I really don't like when people use fake petals to decorate with-I think it really takes away from the rest of the beautiful setting.

Describe one of your most memorable weddings? What made it so special?
My very first wedding as a coordinator....my favorite part was when the bride was about to walk down the aisle...it had to be in a very specific part of their special song (Rascal Flatts "Broken Road") I fluffed her dress train, held the door open for her and the escort (her brother) I told her it was her time and that she looked beautiful...she turned around and just whispered "thank you" with the greatest appreciation in her eyes-that was awesome.

If you could give the bride and groom one piece of advice what would it be?
Make a point throughout the day to stop and look around to capture the special moments in your mind. The day will go by incredibly fast ~try to enjoy it-it will be over before you know it.

Anything else you want to share?
Sometimes letting the professionals do their "thing" works out better for the overall event, with just a few guidelines from the bride. "when you let the artist be the artist you get what you want, not what you ask for".

What do you love most about being a part of the J.Starr Stylized Wedding Team?
Definitely the team of people I get to work with-they are simply the best.
